Availles Thouarsais -" Espace Naturel Sensible" Les vallées sèches
The dry valleys of Availles-Thouarsais, a corner of the Mediterranean!
The dry valleys of Availles-Thouarsais have steep south-facing slopes. These particular conditions and the calcareous nature of the soil have allowed the development of a heritage habitat, the dry calcicole grassland. This habitat, which is now rare and threatened, is home to a large number of unique species with a southern tendency.
Thus, you will be able to discover an unknown flora such as the Appennine Helianthemum or the Montpellier Astragale and a shimmering fauna such as the Celestial Blue Argus
