1ST DAY | Karting, burgers and segway: so much fun !
Before going away for a weekend with our parents, we stated certain conditions: exciting activities and not spending hours in restaurants or museums… Our parents scored some points by suggesting a session karting in Bessines, at the edge of the Marais Poitevin. Actually, it was two sessions because the first one was training (according to my older brother who came 4th out of 5). My sister then convinced us to try geocaching in the Marais Poitevin following the « Les Gardiens du Marais » route in Saint-Georges-de-Rex. It was a great way to explore Green Venice. For lunch, we ate burgers at the L’Atelier streetfood in Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon. We continued exploring the Marais Poitevin on Segways. I have been wanting to go on a Segway for ages! Mum was a bit wobbly at first, but after 10 minutes everyone had got their confidence. We went for a lovely ride in the village of Coulon and the surrounding marshland. Our guide was really nice and interesting. We slept at the Logis de Sèvres in the centre of Niort. It’s a hotel full of character, which has been elegantly restored. Our parents had chosen well !
