Musée L'Abbaye Mauléon

In the ancient Abbey of the Trinity (XVII-XVIII), discover eleven engraved stones from the site of Vaux, and many objects and a large model approaching the time when Mauleon was the capital of the Vendée insurgent (late eighteenth century ). In the chapel of the nineteenth century, a beautiful collection of goldsmith, enriched many objects from popular piety evokes religious life. The reconstruction of a Poitou interior and a fine collection of old tools also suggest life in the countryside and the city in the nineteenth century. The leather trades, which have greatly facilitated the local economy until the 1970s with the tanneries and shoe factories are also presented.
