Located between the church and the Château de la Seigneurie, the dwelling is the property, in the 1630s, of Antoine Creusé, father of Pierre, rich Calvinist merchant settled in Niort, as well as "the house of the bourgeoisie", CLOSE to Souché and in the family until 1710. Then, in the 18th century, it was the domain of M. de la Borde de Saint-Offrange.
The 15th century house was renovated in the 19th century. Remains remain: ogival door, spiral staircase, fireplace transformed into a bread oven in the 18th century, vaulted cellar, lintel decorated with the keys of St Pierre and remains of the double enclosure rue du Vieux-Puits.
Its former defensive towers of the sixteenth-seventeenth century. (discovery of boulets) are transformed into leaks: these being characteristic of an occupation by an owner who does not belong to the nobility, because the job holes do not go down to the ground.
