Eglise Notre-Dame d'Echiré

In the 15th century, the building was rebuilt and enlarged. Its primitive apse was replaced by a straight chevet and its 11th century nave was covered with ribbed vaults. It was renovated in 1866 and rebuilt after 1870. Only the octagonal dome on trunks in the square of the transept, the pillars with Romanesque capitals and a stepped southern window remain. The church was consecrated in 1879 by the bishop of Poitiers accompanied by sixty priests. Then, the monument was restored from 2011 to 2012.
